ASIAN VALUES AND BELIEFS, ARE THEY REALLY DIFFERENT
Many religions share the same values, for example, the respect for other peoples lives. No matter what beliefs people follow, there is no reason why people should consider their values to be much different from others. In Asia, where tradition is considered very important, and where tradition and modernity are at constant struggle, some people have considered that progress has affected negatively their religions. But the truth is that it doesn’t have to be like that. Progress and traditional religions can live together as long as the values are maintained.
Beside, traditional values can persist in modern Asia, and progress doesn’t necessarily mean a loss of religion. People should look for the things that unite these two realms, and consider that universal values are shared by the whole humanity, and that every human has to be responsible for the consequences of their acts. As long as people understand this, beliefs and values can be considered very similar.
In the other hand, while religions and beliefs can separate people, values unite them. Society should work towards an understanding and acceptance of the different beliefs, and learn that no matter what they believe in, their behaviour must be responsible, and the principles of society should be the same for everyone. This will lead to a more tolerant society, where families and individuals are respected in their freedom and their integrity.
In conclusion, religions are meant to be a search for the truth, and this applies too for human values, which depend on the truth. In every society there are positive and negative values, but in order to progress, a spiritual sense of direction is necessary. That’s why we can´t say that values and beliefs are that different. They complete each other, even in societies where differences are strong in this sense. When respect and open mindness are inculcated in the culture of a country, there is no need for everybody to believe in the same things.
Africa: Seven Deadly Sins
Like in other parts of the world, in Africa are in use the new seven deadly sins that were published by the
The new seven deadly sins are contamination to the environment, being greedy, taking drugs, abortion, social injustice, genetic engineering and sex use by new people generations.
Some of this deadly sins are most important than the others because are more common nowadays. Firstly, one of this is the contamination to the environment. Cutting of wood, burning of trees, destruction of forests, garbage and toxic gases produce by the industries are the principal contaminating agents of air.
Besides of this, abortion is an alarming situation. It has increased because of unwanted pregnancies. These pregnancies are more common in girls and teenagers. The abortion is a way of killing a human being.
Moreover, being greedy is a serious sin too. It is important because while there are people who has a lot of money, big houses, elegant cars and others properties, there are people who died because of famine, not potable water, even a small house to live.
OSTENTATIOUS LIFESTYLES IN AUSTRALIA
Our modern world allows that some people carry a life of wealth and style, beyond the imagination of poor people. This is possible thanks to the opportunities that skilled workers are given in some countries. for example, in Australia, there are certain places that are exclusively for rich wealthy people, who are looking for the safety and commodity that they deserve.
Firstly, in many regions of Australia, like south Australia, Victoria and Tasmania among others, immigrants who want to improve their lifestyle are offered places to live where they can enjoy their richness and live safely and according to their income.
Secondly, it is not strange that people become so rich in countries like Australia, when even in countries like ours, there are people who enjoy a life of pleasure that seems surreal. It isn’t bad to have a lot of money, but it is not good to have people starving on the streets, dying of hunger and needing money.
In conclusion, like in every other country, in Australia some people are being more benefited and empowered than others, and since this is an industrialized developed country, the ones that are considered rich there are very rich. There is no problem about this, but money can sometimes distort the mentality of people, and lead them to live a lifestyle full of pleasure and banality but without real spiritual meaning.
SUDAFRICA`S CRIME
The crime is a problem that covers every country in the world, but in Africa, a continent surrounded by poverty is a problem almost obligatory to threat.
In Africa, crime is widespread, but in particular instance, in South Africa, one of the largest countries, is a national problem because since 8 years Principal drawback is in progress.
In addition, it is known that the national government has been criticized for not doing enough to prevent crime. There is a police service, which is the most criticized institution never in South Africa. For example, during a conference of Safety and Security in Burundi where the institution was promoting the peace and democracy, the foreign guesses criticized the South African government.
In general, one of the most visible results of South Africa in connection with the crime is the growing number of private neighborhoods that have been built in an effort to promote the safety of inhabitants.
Considering the high crime rate of South Africa, its important to analize the values promoted in the country. Is it an education matter? Probably. It is necessary to implement a program to teach principles and values like the respect to others and the honesty with you and the ones who surround you.
In conclusion, I think that is an issue that should be treated with great care. At the end, people who are mainly affected leaves the country and what is a country without its people? . The police and security institutions should be strengthened to better serve the community. Every part of the judicial branch of the country that contributes to get lower crime rates.
BEING ETHICAL WHEN ADVERTISIGN, WHAT IS THE LIMIT?
In Australia there is no limitation for the contents of the advertisement. The only limit is given by the products that can or can’t be sold. For example, therapeutic goods can only be sold if they are permitted and certified by the therapeutic act, a law that regulates this kind of products.
In the first place, advertisers sometimes exceed this limit, and try to sell something using wrong information on their ads. Ingenuous people can be forced to buy things that are useless or that are not as good as the advertiser promised. This must be prohibited by the government in any country, because it is a form of robbing people.
Besides, there also should be a limit in the content of the ads when it comes to sex or violence. Anything can be seen by adults, who have their own opinion and are responsible for their acts. But for children, this should be regulated. This is very hard to accomplish, but it’s not impossible if parents take charge of it. Recently, Australian government created a law that stated that web pages should vary their contents and have a different “harmless” version for schools.
I think, as long as people are respected, there should be no limitation for advertisers to develop their creativity, after all, advertisement is a form of art and should that is something that should be taken in consideration.
